Wow. I almost wound up not filing my taxes this year.
H&R Block's site is filled with promotions and gotcha paid stuff that you have to opt out of over and over again while going through filing steps.
I'd gotten to what *looked* like a step you couldn't pass without buying an optional service. And so I thought I was done.
Finally realized after getting a few "let's finish" emails that that step *could* be passed without buying something (just a different design and color choices for the "buyme" clicks so it looked like the first was auto-selected).
After passing this point finally, there were many more steps and many more promotions to opt out of, but finally it's done.
So with only three days left, I NOW have my taxes filed and got through it without being forced to purchase anything.
Those ads almost cost me over $600.
