Più competitività, più spettacolarità, sicurezza e sostenibilità: la Fia ha introdotto importanti novità regolamentari, che molti considerano rivoluzionarie, per il mondiale 2026 di Formula 1 che inizia questo weekend con il Gran Premio di Australia a Melbourne. Le modifiche cruciali riguardano il motore delle monoposto: da quest'anno la power unit, in cui tradizionalmente la parte termica è prevalente rispetto a quella elettrica, viene divisa in parti uguali, anche per rendere la produzione di motori più accessibile ai costruttori. In pista, questa maggiore erogazione di energia elettrica si traduce nell'opzione Overtake Mode, che dovrebbe favorire i sorpassi. Un altro dispositivo manuale, l'"Active Aero", consente di regolare le parti mobili delle ali, in modo che il pilota possa scegliere tra un assetto ottimale per i rettilinei o per le curve. Dai primi test, però, i campioni più esperti hanno espresso più di una perplessità

On track, this greater electric power output translates into the Overtake Mode option, which should encourage overtaking. Another manual device, the “Active Aero,” allows the driver to adjust the moving parts of the wings, so that the driver can choose between a setup optimal for straights or for corners. However, from the first tests, the most experienced champions have expressed more than one perplexity.
